MANGIA

Mangia is a venue planned to serve as a cafe-restaurant within a health complex in Heidelberg. Here too, we began our work when a request came to design a bistro that would appeal to both healthcare professionals and those coming to receive services.

It’s often a tense and stressful atmosphere for both the employees and the patients visiting. We planned a serene environment that would distance customers from this stressful atmosphere with the calming effects of green and earth tones. By incorporating nature-themed pictures distributed throughout the space and intensified botanical elements, we envisioned a social area that would take visitors away from the hospital ambiance.

There’s an interpretation of Art Deco here. The distribution of different seating groups, which we call islands, throughout the venue created both a visual richness and provided ease of use for varying numbers of customers.
